FAQ
BATTERY
1. How to charge the battery?
Only the official charger should be used. The non-standard or unqualified charger may cause a battery failure and a reduced battery service life. Do not turn on the display while charging to prevent damage to the electrical system.
2. Charging Methods:
Find a charging port on the frame, insert a charger cable to charge. And no need to remove the battery from the frame.
Or remove the battery from the frame and charge.
*Either way, please connect the charger to the battery first, and then connect the charger to the power source. The battery must not be continuously charged for more than 12 hours.
3. When charging, the charger may go heat, it’s normal as long as the temperature does not exceed 60°C. When charging, please put the charger and battery in a stable, dry, flammable, explosive-free place, and out of the reach of children.
4. How long should I charge the battery?
The battery needs to be charged for 3-10 hours before first use. The charging time depends on the remaining power.
5. How to check the battery status from the display?
The battery level corresponds to the number of LED bars on the display. When the battery is fully charged, the LED bars are all on. If only one is on and flashing, it means that the battery is critically low and needs to be charged immediately.
6. The battery cannot be charged
1) The charger does not match or malfunction. Please check the label of the charger, see if the voltage matches the battery. When the charger connects to the power source, the indicator of the charger is green. The indicator is red while charging. If not, please replace the charger.
2) The actual voltage of the battery is lower than the protected voltage. Please check the battery voltage by using a voltmeter. The standard voltage for a 36V battery is 32V-42V, for a 48V battery is 42V-52V.
7. Incorrect Battery Status
1) Voltage is not a stable value. It may change based on actual speed or terrain. Normally, the display shows various battery statuses.
2) The voltage of the battery does not match the voltage of the E-bike.
8. Battery Maintenance
Environment: The ideal charging temperature for a lithium battery is 20-26℃. Please avoid charging the battery in an extremely cold (under 0℃) or hot (above 50℃) environment as it may damage, reduce the battery’s service life, or even cause a fire.
Timing: Lithium battery does not have a memory effect. Service life may reduce If charging after the battery is completely empty. We recommend charging the battery after every riding.
Place: Please park your bike indoor if conditions permit, to avoid long-time raining or direct sunlight. If not using the E-bike for a long time, it is recommended to charge the battery over 40%, and place the battery in a stable, dry, and cool environment, and charge the battery at least once a month to prolong the battery’s service life.
Charger: The official charger should be used only. The non-standard or unqualified charger may cause a battery failure and reduce battery service life.
Service Life: Lithium batteries can be fully charged and discharged 300-500 times (cycles). Charging 0-100% one time is one cycle, while charging 50-100% is 0.5 cycle. Also, the performance of the battery will reduce based on time.
9. Can the battery be replaced? Where to purchased?
The battery can be replaced. And can be purchased on the official ACTbikes website.
10. Can I still ride if the battery runs out?
Yes, the E-bike can still be ride. But please turn off the power immediately. Please charge the battery as soon as possible.

GEAR SHIFTING
1. What are the shifting gears?
The E-bikes (specific models) are equipped with a 7-speed Shimano gear shifting system, by which you can adjust the speed during riding to fit in different terrains and weather conditions. Low-speed gear is suitable for starting and uphill, high-speed gear is suitable for medium and high-speed riding.
2. Is Derailleur A Common Part?
Yes, you can change different derailleurs accordingly.
3. Derailleur Malfunction / Noise
If the chain cannot get into the gear properly, you can simply adjust the derailleur. This work requires a certain skill, if you are not sure how to do the work, please ask professional technicians from a local bike store.
Please check if the derailleur is deformed. If it does, please replace a new derailleur.

Level1: 10km/h; Level 2: 15km/h; Level 3: 18km/h; Level 4: 20km/h; Level 5: 25km/h
Note: The maximum speed of each level is slightly different due to different models, different battery capacity, and environmental impacts such as riding conditions, human weight, and wind resistance.
CADENCE SENSOR
1. Sensor Malfunction / No Power Assist
Check if power output by using throttle or walking mode. If no, please see Motor Malfunction.
Check the connection of the cadence sensor.
2. Difference Between Speed Sensor and Torque Sensor
Speed sensor collects signal from the speed of pedaling. While torque sensor collects signal from the power of pedaling.
3. How to activate the power assist mode?
Set the assistance level to level 1 or above, start pedaling for more than half-circle, and the sensor would be triggered.
Models equipped with thumb throttle or twist throttle: In addition to pedaling assistance, you can also use the thumb or rotary throttle to assist when riding.
The motor may stop assist if the actual speed was quicker than pedaling frequency under both assisting modes.
